De autismeweek is gepasseerd, maar nu heb ik eindelijk wat tijd gevonden om mee te doen met de uitnodiging van Tistje: elke dag van de week een letter bespreken.
Die week is ondertussen voorbij dus 't is in 1 keer alle letters.
B voor bravoure: de dapperheid, moed, onversaagdheid om onszelf te zijn in een maatschappij waar het keurslijf het geliefde kledingstuk is.
E voor echtheid: de onmogelijkheid om (toch voor lange tijd) een rol te spelen en een masker te dragen.
G voor gevoelig: voor textuur, structuur, licht, kleur, geluid, emoties…Voor onszelf, voor anderen. Dikwijls te veel of te weinig, maar altijd veel gevoel.
R voor rechtuit: openhartig. Soms met opzet, meestal totaal onwetend. Het levert al eens vreemde blikken en onbegrip op, maar heel dikwijls opent het deuren, zet het mensen aan het denken en wordt het met gelach onthaald.
I voor interessant: interessant voor wie open staat voor andere denkpatronen en die wil leren kennen. Niet beperkt, wel interessant. Net door het anders denken, anders kijken, anders luisteren, zien, horen en vangen we de interessante zaken op.
P voor persoonlijkheid: allemaal aparte personen, allemaal anders. Net zoals alle mensen hebben we onze eigen persoonlijkheid, gevormd door omgeving, cultuur, opvoeding. Wij zijn met onze eigen persoonlijkheid allemaal evenwaardig aan iedere andere persoon.

The autismweek is just finished and I've finally found some time to accept the invitation of Tistje: talk about one letter a day of the word "begrip". This means "understanding" in English.
Understanding has too many letters so I'll translate the text I wrote for "begrip".
All the letters at once:
B for bravado: the bravery, courage, vigor and valour we show to be ourselves in a society that wears its shackles so proudly.
E for "echtheid" or authenticity: the impossibility to play a role (for a long time anyway) and to wear a mask.
G for "gevoelig" or sensitive: for textures, structures, light, colour, noise, emotions....Sensitive to ourselves, to others. Often too much or not enough, but always with a lot of emotions.
R for "rechtuit" of straight: candid. Sometimes on purpose, but mostly unknowingly. It may result in glares and misunderstanding, but sometimes there's a bright side to it when it makes people lought. It opens doors to conversations and connections. It helps people think out of the box.
I for interesting: interesting for all who are open to different ways of thinking and who want to learn about them. Not restricted, but interesting. Just by thinking, looking, listening differently we hear, see and pick up interesting things.
P for personality: all individual persons, all different. Just like all other people we have our own personality, shaped by surroundings, culture, education. Equal to all other persons.
